Jane Goodwin’s art was first orientated towards the multi-faceted reality and shenanigans of ‘Life in the City’. Her white fibre glass sculptures speak in a surreal and funny way of traders.
The soft body and furniture sculptures have developed from Jane’s passion for chairs, and her earlier training as a fashion designer. Her choice of soft materials in conjunction with chairs has resulted in the construction of these unique sculptural objects which also highlight the human condition.
Jane’s drawings of thread on paper developed from her chair sculptures and her interest in 20th century chair design. The series ‘The Iconic Chair Suite’ of 30 works on paper was showcased at the Jaggedart Gallery in London, in conjunction with London Design Week.
More recently Jane Goodwin has been developing beautiful collages. Photographs of these can be sent on request.
